But then He pleads, “Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin… for I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth… wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.”That’s God’s heart — not condemnation, but invitation. He doesn’t want to destroy you; He wants to deliver you.Psalm 106 reminds us that even when Israel rebelled, “Nevertheless He regarded their affliction, when He heard their cry.” When they remembered His covenant, mercy triumphed again.Hebrews 9 shows us why that mercy still flows — because Jesus, our High Priest, opened the true tabernacle in heaven. No more yearly rituals. No more animal blood. Hebrews 8 tells us that we have a High Priest — not one standing in a man-made temple, but one seated “on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens.”Jesus isn’t offering the old sacrifices that had to be repeated over and over. He offered Himself once — a perfect sacrifice, and with it came a new covenant.Verse 10 says, “I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts.” This isn’t religion carved in stone; it’s truth engraved in the soul. God’s new covenant isn’t about outward rituals — it’s about inward relationship.Here’s the heart of it: the old covenant showed man’s failure. The new covenant shows God’s faithfulness. Under the old, man kept breaking it.
